Kings Biltong News

"As part of the MR7s commitment to driving 7s interest up north, last week we had the pleasure of teaming up with Charlie and James Simpson-Daniel from Kings Biltong to deliver a rugby 7s session.

We ran a competition back in December to win a session with the brothers and Wilmslow were the very lucky winners. Charlie and James ran the boys through some drills ahead of their 7s season and appearance at the Manchester 7s Festival, following this players and teachers had the opportunity to ask questions to the England 7s representatives".

11 March 2013: Commonwealth Day with Sir Richard Branson

As an individual who has benefited from the assistance of Start Up Loans Britain, an initiative funded by Virgin to encourage young people to start their own businesses, Kings Biltong Director Charlie Simpson-Daniel was invited to attend Commonwealth day in Westminster Abbey. Here he had the pleasure of attending a service with inspirational speakers from all over the world, with such speakers including Sir Richard Branson and the Queen of England. The theme of this gathering was that Britain's economic future was dependent upon innovative entrepreneurs and their capacity to create industry.

Charlie also had the pleasure of being invited by Sir Richard Branson to attend an after party. Here Richard was hoping to meet a small number of entrepreneurs who had been selected from within the commonwealth to discuss their businesses and their stories. This event took place in Virgins Galactic headquarters in London, a building with wallpaper of space and mini Virgin Space Shuttles zooming around each and every corner.

"It was in every aspect an education for me to meet Sir Richard Branson. Meeting a man that has not just experienced incredible success in business owing an empire that stretches over 150 companies but also achieved incredible triumphs of the imagination as he is currently designing space shuttles that will allow people to experience weightlessness. This man was able to walk around the room offering sandwiches to aspiring, young entrepreneurs and  listen to their stories with such focus and attention to detail that you would have thought you and him were the only two people in the building. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Richard and an experience I will not forget." Charlie Simpson-Daniel, 2013
